I am available to provide lessons in music composition to
anyone over the age of fourteen.
I teach composition by getting pupils to write and to learn what techniques can be used in various situations to solve compositional problems.
The most important thing in learning to write music is to do it, and so new pieces are what I expect to see from any pupil, regardless of the style of music the pupil writes, classical, jazz, pop or any other style.
Through looking at other examples of published music, and examiing the music a pupil produces, I foster an individual style in pupils and certainly do not expect them to end up writing my music for me!
The only prerequisite is a thorough grounding in Music Theory.
Rates are competative and I am currently able to take pupils.
